Court orders pre-trial detention for Turkish businessman Galif Ozturk

Batumi City Court ordered pre-trial detention for Turkish businessman Galif Ozturk.

As Judge Kote Chikaia explained, the court granted the motion of the Prosecutor's Office, as the case is under investigation.

The defence plans to appeal the court decision, claiming that the Prosecutor's Office filed an unfounded charge.

"Unexpectedly the court granted the motion of the Prosecutor's Office. We will definitely appeal the decision. The seized drugs do not belong to Mr. Galif Ozturk. The police were able to move freely in the house when Mr. Galif was asleep,” said lawyer Tengiz Kakhidze.
