The so-called departees, who are actually an organic part of the Georgian Dream, are traitors - they are ready to read the written text according to one man's request and harm the country, Khatuna Samnidze, chairwoman of the Republican Party, told reporters when commenting on the statement released by the People’s Power concerning the US funding.

According to her, after the country's independence, the Georgian Dre­am government has been the only government under which pro-Russian statements are openly made from the parliamentary tribune.

"I had not used the word “traitor'' up to now, but this particular group is going directly against the country's interests, harming the country's interests, future, security, and they are ready to read the written text at the request of one man and harm the country. This is treason. Their statement that the financial support of the partners does not bring benefits to the country proves that, along with the treasonous statements, this group is completely ignorant and does not know what is happening in the country. The financial support of the partners is public, transparent and beneficial to the country," she said.

According to her, Ivanishvili's goal is to distance this country from the European choice.

"This government is the only government after the country's independence, under which openly pro-Russian statements have been made twice from the tribune of the legislative body of this country. The first was Alliance of Patriots, which was directly supported by Bidzina Ivanishvili, and today anti-Western statements of the Georgian Dre­am are heard from the parliamentary tribune. Ivanishvili's goal is to weaken the country and distance it from the European future. This has not worked for any force in this country, neither will it work for the Georgian Dre­am or Ivanishvili. This country has partners who support not any specific political power but this country and all their statements show that they will not abandon this country. Ivanishvili will have to retreat," said Samnidze.
