The National Movement is collapsing, Vice-Speaker of the Parliament Archil Talakvadze said.
Talakvadze responded to the criticism of the opposition on the de-oligarchization law and noted that the National Movement has applauded this law in Ukraine, but now they want to adopt a different law, because they are motivated by political revenge against Ivanishvili.
"We saw how inconsistent the opposition is, at the beginning they criticized us, saying that the Government would not adopt the deoligarchization law, however, as you can see, we have already adopted it in the first reading. This is similar to the Ukrainian model. Let us remind you that the National Movement had earlier arrived in Ukraine and applauded exactly this law, which was adopted in Ukraine. Now they are justifying themselves by saying that oligarchy is different in Ukraine, different in Moldova and different in Georgia, and that everyone should adopt the traditional oligarchy law. It seems that they consider oligarchy to be a part of their traditions and they want to come up with a bill that has the country's flag. We actually know what they want. They suffered a very serious political trauma in 2012, when they lost the elections to Bidzina Ivanishvili and Georgian Dream, and since then this party has been living for political revenge. They wanted extraordinary elections in the country and they got it in their own party. They were destructive and this ultimately destroyed their party. There is really a process of disintegration going on inside the party, they cannot divide Kezerashvili, funding, media influence and positions, and it is not surprising that this causes disappointment among their voters," said Talakvadze.
