The partner company of the N1 fintech license holder in Lithuania - Paysera, will start operating with a digital bank license in Georgia. On November 17, 2022, the National Bank of Georgia granted JSC Paysera Georgia the 15th commercial bank license and the first digital bank license. According to the said license, the bank will start operating in the market within 4 months after the completion of the test regime.
This is the first time that the National Bank has issued a digital bank license. By developing the digital bank model, the National Bank aims to promote: the development of innovative business models; variety of financial products; better use of big data; development of a convenient, fast and accessible digital financial ecosystem adapted to the technological infrastructure around the user; effective use of cloud services; facilitating integration with technology companies and developing a banking-as-a-service model in the wholesale market.
"Peysera Bank Georgia" met the mentioned principles. Paysera is based on an innovative technological business model, which allows to provide the desired services to customers with simple digital solutions. For 18 years, the company has already acquired more than a million customers due to its reliability, simplicity, speed and affordable prices. The company fully covers all countries in the European Economic Area with its license, and its partner network includes Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Kosovo, Albania, Bulgaria, Romania, Switzerland and now Georgia.
"I would say that one of the most important competitive advantages is our services that we offer to our customers, financial services that are not yet available in Georgia. Hopefully, we will be the first bank in the Georgian market to open an international, European IBAN and an international, Georgian IBAN to its customers, thereby giving access to the SEPA - Single European Payment System and the Georgian national payment system at the same time. This will give both legal and physical persons the opportunity to be members of the European monetary payment system, not only for local Georgians, but also for businesses, and to receive all the benefits, including international transfers, that the system has," Paysera Lt Chief Executive Officer Gintautas Mežetis told PalitraNews TV.
