According to Givi Mikanadze, First Deputy Chairman of the Georgian Dream faction, the statements of the opposition that the ruling team does not share the grief over the death of Georgian soldiers in the war in Ukraine are speculation.

As Givi Mikanadze pointed out, when Georgian soldiers died in international missions, the opposition did not have the initiative to declare a day of mourning.

According to him, the Government clearly expressed its support for the fallen compatriots through the military funeral honors.

"I want to express my deep sorrow and offer my condolences to the families of each of the deceased compatriots. This is Russia's aggression in Ukraine, which, as of today, has killed 33 of our citizens. To say that we do not share this grief is unacceptable. I will tell you more, the state clearly expressed its support for the fallen compatriots through the military funeral honors.

To say that the ruling team does not share the grief is speculation and misinformation. These statements are particularly unacceptable from the people who abandoned our soldiers in the middle of the war in 2008.

As for the day of mourning - remind me how many Georgians died in international missions during various operations. I don't remember any initiative from our opponents and their related organizations to declare a day of mourning for their death. It's sad, but the reality is that this is all speculation. It does not fit into any framework when they speculate like this on behalf of deceased compatriots," said Givi Mikanadze.

Michał Kobosko - we hope that your government eventually would either choose the European way, the democratic way or would resign seeing the number, the size and scale of the citizens' protests
