It was a small joke by the President, which she can be forgiven once a year - for some reason she wanted to joke, - Irakli Kobakhidze, Chairman of Georgian Dream, said in connection with the statement released by the Presidential Administration of Georgia relating to him.

According to Kobakhidze, he initially thought that the statement posted on the page of the Administration was fake.

"For some reason, she wanted to joke and she did it. In general, of course, if we look seriously at it, when the President posts something like this on her official website... first I thought it was fake. It was really incredible, but then it turned out that she wanted to joke like that and she did it," said Kobakhidze.

The Presidential Administration responded to the statement of Georgian Dre­am Chairman Irakli Kobakhidze yesterday. According to the statement, in a democratic country, it is not allowed to make a threat in relation to the use of discretionary constitutional powers by the President.

The Presidential Administration quoted Irakli Kobakhidze, with which Kobakhidze introduced himself in 2020, when naming the electoral list.

"The Administration of the President of Georgia wants to respond to the statement of the chairman of the party Georgia­n Dre­am, Mr. Irakli Kobakhidze, about the discretionary right of the President.

We believe that "the third number on the list of Georgia­n Dre­am, master of law of Tbilisi State University and Düsseldorf, doctor of law of Düsseldorf University, professor of Tbilisi State University, (former) vice-president of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, we will stop here, we will not continue much", Mr. Irakli Kobakhidze should know very well that in a democratic country, it is not permissible to make a threat in relation to the use of discretionary constitutional powers by the President!" reads the President's statement.
