Sergey Shamba: The current leadership of Georgia is neutral towards Russia - moreover, it actively opposes the efforts of the Ukrainian government and the opposition, which demand the opening of a second front

We are now largely dependent on the internal political situation of Georgia, the so-called secretary of the security council of occupied Abkhazia, Sergey Shamba, stated.

"The current leadership of Georgia is neutral towards Russia. Moreover, it actively opposes the efforts of the Ukrainian government and the opposition, which demand the opening of a second front against Russia in Abkhazia and South Ossetia," he added.

Shamba says that the desire to normalize relations with the "neighbor across Engeuri" is not behind such a policy.

In addition, according to him, this behavior of the Georgian government is due to purely pragmatic reasons.

"However, who can say that as a result of the existing pressure, the leadership of Georgia will not be replaced by anti-Russian radicals or will itself be forced to open a second front?" states Shamba.

He added that occupied Abkhazia should focus on several issues:

"First of all, we must carefully check the mobilization capabilities of our army, the president has already given the relevant instructions. Secondly, the concept of the reform of the armed forces should be prepared as soon as possible. Special attention should be paid to re-armament, equipping the army with the latest types of weapons and military equipment. Thirdly, we will continue the policy of supporting new regions of Russia - Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhia regions", Shamba said.

Before that, the so-called foreign minister of occupied Abkhazia, Inal Ardzinba, said that "the probability of war with Georgia is quite high".
