Giorgi Amilakhvari will replace Mikheil Chkhenkeli as the Minister of Education of Georgia.

Giorgi Amilakhvari was nominated as the Minister of Education and Science a few minutes ago by the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Gharibashvili.

Until now, Amilakhvari held the position of the Chairman of the Education and Science Committee of the Parliament, while Mikheil Chkhenkeli was appointed as the Minister of Education and Science in November 2019.

It should also be noted that Mikheil Chkhenkeli held the post of Minister of Education earlier too, in 2017, but only for 8 months.
