Prime Minister: I express full support to all judges - during our rule, the court has become independent and free from any interference, both domestic and foreign

During our rule, the court has become independent and free from any interference, both internal and from other countries - any interference or any influence on the judges is unacceptable, said Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Gharibashvili after the meeting with the chairperson and members of the Supreme Council of Justice.

The Prime Minister expresses his support to the judges and says that the Government will do everything to protect the independence and freedom of the court.

"My main message was and is the following - I, as the head of the Government and representative of the ruling team, express my full support to all judges. During our rule, the court has become independent and free from any interference - both domestic and foreign. Of course, any interference or any influence on the judges is unacceptable. This is absolutely unacceptable for me, especially for a sovereign court and judges of a sovereign country. I also assured the judges of our full support. We will do our best to protect the independence of the judiciary, freedom from any interference and pressure, this is our stated policy and the main goal we strive for. In the last 10 years, we have carried out fundamental reforms in the court in order to make the court what it is today - independent, free from any interference," said Irakli Gharibashvili.

Michał Kobosko - we hope that your government eventually would either choose the European way, the democratic way or would resign seeing the number, the size and scale of the citizens' protests
