Davit Usupashvili: We are presenting the signatures of 50 MPs, we appeal to you to continue the procedures necessary for the creation of an investigative commission, and if this is not enough, then we will meet in the Constitutional Court

Davit Usupashvili, one of the leaders of Lelo, submitted the signatures of 50 MPs on the creation of an investigative commission on the issue of the court to the Chairman of the Parliament and requested to continue the necessary procedures for the creation of the commission, as otherwise the opposition will appeal to the Constitutional Court.

The opposition deputy brought a constitution intended for children to the parliament session hall.

According to Davit Usupashvili, the majority decided to cover up the problems in the justice system and problematic people and to follow them wherever they go.

"I want to inform everyone that we are witnessing unprecedented administrative violence. This list still does not include the issue of an investigative commission. The majority, who have decided to cover up problems in the justice system and the problematic people there, resorted to all tricks - illegal ones, in violation of the constitution, so that to prevent 50 MPs, to whom the constitution of Georgia gives the exclusive right to decide the creation of an investigative commission, from creating such a commission in a civilized way.

Therefore, we are presenting the signatures of 50 MPs. By signing, we confirm our will and decision regarding the establishment of an investigative commission provided for in Article 42 of the Constitution of Georgia, for which the support of 1/3 of the Parliament is required. With this manifestation of our will, we appeal to you to continue the procedures necessary for the investigative commission to function, and if this is not enough, then we will meet in the Constitutional Court and we will definitely meet in the investigative commission, which will definitely be created in this Parliament or in the next Parliament," Usupashvili said.
