The Revenue Service has released a statement.
As mentioned in the statement, since the introduction of international sanctions, our country has fully complied with the established rules and has strictly monitored all types of customs formalities.
"The Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance responds to another misinformation spread by the TV Pirveli program Nodar Meladze Saturday regarding the enforcement of international sanctions by Georgia and once again categorically declares that since the imposition of international sanctions, our country has fully complied with the established rules and has strictly monitored all types of customs formalities.
Taking into account the above, the export of all those products, in this case the household electrical appliances named in the TV story, which are included in the list determined by the countries participating in the sanctions and which are subject to the regulation No. 833/2014 adopted by the European Council on of July 31, 2014, (which refers tothe banning of the export of electrical goods from the European Union to the Russian Federation) is permitted if the retail value of the goods does not exceed 750 euros.
In addition, any customs operations carried out by companies registered in Georgia and goods destined for the Republic of Russia or Belarus (including exports and re-exports) are subject to special customs control, all such operations are checked, and if the company or products are on the sanctions list, the operation is not allowed to be carried out.
All our partner agencies and international organizations have been informed about the customs control procedures regarding the enforcement of sanctions. Also, the cases of issuing the certificate of origin of goods are subject to additional verification, so that the territory of Georgia is not used as a means of circumventing the imposed sanctions.
The Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance once again urges everyone to refrain from spreading unsubstantiated and harmful information regarding cargo control in the country," reads the information.
