In 3 months, 224 persons were registered as asylum seekers in Georgia, refugee status was granted to 6 foreign citizens, 47 citizens of foreign countries were expelled from Georgia

According to the data of the second quarter of the current year (April, May, June), 224 persons were registered as asylum seekers in Georgia, of which the most - 44 people are citizens of Iran, 43 of Turkey, 36 of Ukraine, and 25 of Russia.

According to the statistical data of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, citizens of Egypt, Syria, Uzbekistan, Pakistan and Nigeria are also among the asylum seekers.

As for the granting of humanitarian status, in the mentioned three months, 49 citizens of foreign countries received this status, the majority of them - 46 people are citizens of Ukraine, 1 person is from Iraq, and 2 people are of unidentified citizenship.

Refugee status was granted to 6 citizens of foreign countries, 3 of them are citizens of Russia and 3 are citizens of Bangladesh.

According to the statistics of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 121 citizens of foreign countries were refused status in the given period. Most of them - 37 people were citizens of Iran, 21 of Turkey, 10 of Jordan, 5 of Russia.

47 citizens of foreign countries were expelled from Georgia in 3 months. Among them are: 19 citizens of Azerbaijan, 6 of India, 6 of Iran, 2 of Russia, 4 of China, 3 of Egypt.

In the same period, 10 citizens of foreign countries, including 2 from Azerbaijan, 1 from India, 2 from Turkey and 2 from Iran, were accommodated in the temporary accommodation center.
