The "delegation" of Abkhazia, led by the “vice-prime minister” and "minister of agriculture”, Beslan Jopua, is on an "official visit" to Nicaragua, where he held a meeting with the mayor of Managua, the capital of the country.
According to the mayor of Managua, Reina Rueda, "the capitals of Abkhazia and Nicaragua have great potential and expressed hope for further strengthening of contacts".
"The agreement signed between Sokhumi and Managua on November 1, 2021 gives us the opportunity to do so," said Rueda.
On his part, Beslan Jopua said that despite the distance, the existing relations between the two cities will be further strengthened.
"We are separated by oceans, but we have a lot in common. Our countries fought for their sovereignty and existence as an independent state," he said.
