Shalva Papuashvili: The Georgian people now need cheering for EU integration, we need non-governmental organizations to be not critical, but supporters of this process

The Georgian people now need cheering for EU integration, we need non-governmental organizations to be not critical, but supporters of this process. If they also realize that this is our common task, then success is inevitable, said Shalva Papuashvili, Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia.

As Shalva Papuashvili noted, at the conference held today a discussion was held regarding the interim report of the European Commission, which forms the basis for making a positive decision.

"As for the implementation of the recommendations, we discussed the interim report at the conference held today. If we take the pace, be it Georgia, Ukraine and Moldova, we will see that it is the same, 2-3 recommendations were considered fulfilled, in other recommendations there is an important progress. By the way, the non-governmental sector also mentioned this, unlike the situation before June. With this interim report we can create a concrete idea of what the European Union expects. We are in communication with the European Union so that these expectations coincide and we are not oppressed by an unfair decision. As we were a leader, we remain a leader not only in comparison with Ukraine and Moldova, but also with Bosnia-Herzegovina, which was granted status in December," said Shalva Papuashvili.
