Georgian truck drivers employed in Polish companies, who transport cargo to different European countries, are asking for help

120 Georgian truck drivers employed by Polish companies - LUKMAZI, AGMAZI and IMPERIA, who transport cargo to different European countries, are asking for help.

As Giorgi Gigolashvili, one of the truck drivers, told IPN, all 120 Georgian drivers are currently gathered in Germany and are demanding payment of debts from the companies.

"Initially, 20 drivers protested due to the delay in salary and the deduction of part of their salary for no reason. These drivers expressed this protest about 1 week ago. After that, the rest of the drivers were contacted by company representatives and asked if we continue to work with the same company. We told him that we would like to continue this cooperation. We wanted to continue working there, but the employer did not want to continue cooperation with us. That is why we joined the protest started by 20 drivers. We wanted to work, but they themselves no longer wanted to cooperate with Georgian drivers. A negative position was expressed regarding Georgian drivers. We ask that we be fully compensated for our work up until the day we stopped the vehicles. Most drivers are 55 days in arrears. Some of them have had these amounts deducted for no reason. Obviously, our demand is the compensation of these amounts. The company itself wanted to break this relationship, and it was not our initiative," said Giorgi Gigolashvili.
