Shalva Papuashvili: USAID, which is the donor of ISFED, knew at least 3 weeks in advance that the results of PVT were not correct, but we have not yet heard an explanation why they hid this from the Georgian public

According to the Speaker of the Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, on the 40th day after the parliamentary elections, ISFED admitted that the results they announced were not correct, and this admission was made after the parliament convened.

"Exactly on the day of the parliament meeting, in the evening, ISFED recognized its so-called error. We then found out that, as it turned out, at least 3 weeks before this moment, the US Agency for International Development, the donor of ISFED, knew that this information was not correct, but until now we have not heard an explanation from USAID why they hid this fact from the Georgian society, its partner - the Georgian authorities, when street demonstrations were held based on this campaign. To this day, there is no answer and they are avoiding to answer this question. Therefore, it is important for USAID to state its position on this matter, how correct this information is that they informed the donor and, if the donor knew, why they hid it from the Georgian society. We could see that these fake numbers of PVT were used to create unrest in the country," said Shalva Papuashvili.
