Deputy Secretary of the Russian Security Council Dimitri Medvedev responded to the 15th anniversary of the August Russia-Georgia war, stating that Russia, like in 2008, will achieve peace on its own terms.

Medvedev wrote about this on his personal Telegram channel.

"Exactly 15 years ago, Russia resolutely responded to the terrible attack on Tskhinvali, strongly repulsed the aggressor. Behind mindless Saakashvili was the collective West, which even then tried to inflame the situation in the immediate vicinity of Russia's borders. Our armed forces quickly and severely punished the insolent nationalists within five days. We protected our people from the enemy who lived in Abkhazia and South Ossetia. They gave the new states the opportunity to develop with the support of Russia.

The United States and its vassals then clearly did not have enough experience. Today they are again waging a criminal war with the wrong hands and trying to wipe out Russia. The entire NATO system is practically openly fighting against us. We have enough forces to solve all the tasks of a special military operation. As in August 2008, our enemies will be destroyed and Russia will achieve peace on its own terms. Victory will be ours!", Medvedev declared.
