I urge you to wait for October, when there will be a report where you will read how many recommendations have been implemented - we say that our country stands quite firmly in terms of the recommendations, Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili told journalists about the implementation of 12 recommendations.
According to him, the government of Georgia has done a lot of work in the direction of the 12 points and has fulfilled the obligations.
"The government of Georgia has done a lot of work to fulfill the 12 points of Georgia. This is a process where the Georgian authorities have made great efforts to consistently implement all the legal and legislative changes required to fulfill the 12 points. It is not a static process. In general, the government of Georgia is distinguished by the fact that we have a rather ambitious agenda of reforms, not only in the direction of fulfilling the 12 points, but also in the direction of the development of our country. The government of Georgia meets Mr. Borrell quite firmly from the point of view that we have done a lot of work in the direction of the 12 points and have fulfilled the obligations ", said Ilia Darchiashvili.
When asked how many European recommendations have been implemented by Georgia, Darchiashvili did not name a specific number and said that the government did a very important job, "which had a relevant impact on the reform process of Georgia".
Darchiashvili named one of the European recommendations - depolarization and noted that it is difficult to say unequivocally that this point has been fulfilled, "because this is an issue that requires concrete steps to be taken by all participants”.
"When we received the recommendations, we had close communication with the European Union, and we continue to do so today. I would like to see Borrell's arrival today as a very strong signal from the European Union. This is a positive signal that the European integration path of Georgia is very promising. When we talk about implementation or non-implementation of the recommendations, one of the points is depolarization, and it is very difficult to say unequivocally that this point has been implemented, because it is an issue that requires concrete steps to be taken by all participants. The government of Georgia has taken many steps towards depolarization. There are participants in this process who do not want it. Therefore, it is difficult to answer a question whether it has been fulfilled or not", said Ilia Darchiashvili.
