The trial of Nika Melia and the oppositionists arrested along with him was postponed - all three arrested were released from the courtroom

The trial of National Movement members Nika Melia, Bacho Dilidze and Zviad Kuprava arrested during the incident in Gldani was postponed until October 23 at 12:00.

Detainees were released from the courtroom.

For information, Irakli Edzgveradze, deputy of the United Natio­nal Movement in Tbilisi City Hall, was assaulted in Gldani. According to Edzgveradze, he was physically assaulted by more than 30 people. According to Edzgveradze, the person who ordered the attack on him was Konstantine Zarnadze, the majority deputy of Gldani in the City Council, a member of Georgian Dream. Later, the situation on the ground became tense. During the confrontation between the UN­M and law enforcement officers, the police arrested 3 persons - party members Nika Melia, Zviad Kuprava and Bacho Dolidze.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs arrested 6 people for the group violence committed against Irakli Edzgveradze.

As for the episode of Nika Melia, Bacho Dolidze and Zviad Kuprava, according to the official information of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the friends and fellow party members of the injured persons prevented the law enforcement officers from performing their duties, verbally and physically assaulted them and resisted them. The police arrested 3 persons in accordance with the Code of Administrative Offenses. Also, administrative proceedings were initiated against those persons who obstructed and resisted law enforcement officers while performing their official duties.

According to the information of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of the confrontation, the police officers have various injuries on their bodies.

At the same time, the investigation into the attack on the police officers during the performance of official activities is being conducted under Article 353 Prima of the Criminal Code.
