You are a true friend of our country and our people and a strong supporter of our country's European integration, sovereignty and territorial integrity, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili said at the press conference after the meeting with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
According to him, Hungary and Georgia are united by loyalty to traditional and eternal values.
"I want to welcome Viktor Orban, a true friend and strong supporter of our country. I am happy and glad that Prime Minister Viktor Orban came to Georgia with his cabinet. Today we held the first intergovernmental summit, which can be said to be unique and today is a historic day in the relations between the Republics of Georgia and Hungary.
Let me remind you that during the last year, we had quite intense meetings, I was on a visit to Budapest, where we agreed to hold the first intergovernmental summit. Also, we signed an agreement in Budapest and became strategic partners.
On behalf of the government, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to you personally, as you are a true friend of our country and our people and a strong supporter of our country's European integration, sovereignty and territorial integrity. We are especially pleased by the fact that our countries are united by the commitment to traditional and timeless values that have played a decisive role in preserving our history, culture, our identity and in general shaping our everyday life. This includes loyalty to our countries, homeland and our faith, sanctity of the family, respect for our traditions. I must mention Viktor Orban's contribution in protecting, and strengthening these true values and traditions. I said it in Hungary and I will repeat it - the Hungarian people are lucky that in such a difficult time, in such an unpredictable time, Hungary has such a strong and patriotic leader who only protects the interests of his country and serves the interests of his people.
We had a very fruitful meeting, we discussed the existing relations between the countries, which are related to trade, economy, security, defense issues, education, culture. In all directions, we have concrete, tangible progress and results.
Today will also lay the foundation for bringing more results to countries and peoples," Gharibashvili said.
