Anri Okhanashvili: The action plan for deoligarchization was not developed independently, we did not come up with the issues that were outlined by ourselves, it was the advice of the Venice Commission

The action plan for deoligarchization was not developed independently, we did not come up with the issues that were outlined by ourselves, it was the advice of the Venice Commission, Anri Okhanashvili, the deputy of the parliamentary majority, said while talking to journalists.

According to him, the opposition should argue as to what should be added or removed in their opinion.

"The action plan for deoligarchization was not developed independently, we did not come up with the issues that were outlined by ourselves. It was the Venice Commission's advice that the issue of party financing, issues related to the court, part of the anti-corruption direction and others be reflected in one document in a systematic way. With this advice in mind, we have outlined these issues. They should tell us which one is a facade, and which should be added or removed, they should tell us the argumentative position," said Okhanashvili.

At the same time, the deputy of the majority also spoke about the electoral threshold and noted that the opposition groups cannot plan what comes as the second and third steps after their statements, because by talking about lowering the threshold, they actually admit that Georgian Dream will win in the 2024 elections, while they cannot overcome it.

"Opposition groups who say that undistributed mandates go in favor of the government in votes, etc., with this, they directly admit that Georgian Dream is convincingly and victoriously coming to the 2024 parliamentary elections. The opposition groups cannot plan what comes as the second and third steps after their statements, because by talking about lowering the threshold, they actually admit that Georgian Dream will win in the 2024 elections, while they cannot overcome it. What we say is confirmed by what they say. If they are ready to change the government, then how can they not overcome the 5% threshold?" said Anri Okhanashvili.
