Anri Okhanashvili: We are not competing with any country, we are taking objective indicators - how can we make comparisons with a country at war, not to say anything about Moldova

We are not competing with any country, we are taking objective indicators - how can we make comparisons with a country at war, not to say anything about Moldova, - Anri Okhanashvili, the deputy of the parliamentary majority, said this while talking about the Eastern Partnership Index.

According to him, this serves nothing but to give the political opposition groups an opportunity to talk about how the country has regressed in specific directions, which is nonsense. As Okhanashvili points out, Georgia has progress in all directions.

"The degree of democracy, the component of transparency, the degree of freedom of the media, the degree of freedom from corruption, the indicators of the fight against corruption and many other things can be objectively measured in Georgia, so we do not compete with any country, we receive objective indicators that should be taken by objective structures, independent international organizations and they should evaluate. There have been many such evaluations. There is a study done on Georgia, where it is mentioned that Georgia is an advanced country in Eastern Europe, is an advanced country in the region, is ahead of many EU countries in specific directions. Everything is objectively measurable. We are not even competing, how can we make comparisons with a country at war, not to say anything about Moldova. Therefore, whoever planned this is serving a specific plan, so that the political opposition groups have something to talk, to stand in front of their party televisions and try to carry out a campaign harmful to the interests of our country. This serves nothing but to give the political opposition groups an opportunity to talk about how the country has regressed in specific directions, which is nonsense", said Okhanashvili.

For information, in the Eastern Partnership Index 2023, Moldova occupies the first place, Ukraine is in the second place, and Georgia is in the third place. The document mentions that the first two places confirm the achievements of Moldova-Ukraine in terms of EU reforms.
