Aslan Bzhania: We want good neighborly relations with Georgia

We want good-neighborly relations with Georgia, - about this the so-called president of occupied Abkhazia, Aslan Bzhania said in an interview with the Russian news agency Tass.

"In general, we want to have good neighborly relations with Georgia. I can say that we are not antagonistic towards the Georgian people. We had complaints against those who started the war and took part in this war. This changed everything radically. Today there is an independent Abkhazia, whose independence is supported by the Russian government and the Russian people. We have our own way of development and we follow it. Also, we are interested in good neighborly relations with Georgia. This is one story. And the second story is that we understand how difficult it is.

We can cite several examples when a group of people was not ready to accept the reality that existed for hundreds of years. For example, today there are flights from Thessaloniki airport to Istanbul. Constantinople was a Greek Orthodox city, now it is not. "When the representatives of the Georgian government understand this, then the process of establishing normal relations will take on a different dynamic", Bzhania said.

Speaking on the issue of security, Aslan Bzhania noted that NATO ships in the Black Sea do not bring anything good.

"This is an escalation of tension, this is a complication of Ukraine's destiny. It seems to me that none of the NATO countries think about Ukrainians. The territory and people of Ukraine have become a means of trade to achieve political goals aimed at weakening and destroying Russia. Absolutely everyone understands this already. But it seems that the Ukrainian authorities cannot back down. Abkhazian people see and understand this. We value peace as our main value, and in this regard, our vision coincides with the vision of the people of the Russian Federation, its leaders. We have no claim on other people's property, we are not going to give up our property, and we do not advise anyone to try their luck. As for the ships, they have nothing to do there, and the sooner the ships are withdrawn, the sooner peace will be established in the region", Aslan Bzhania noted.
