February 21 is a historic day for our country. The government of the First Republic at that time left us a great legacy, - said the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, while talking to journalists in Brussels.

According to the head of the government, this was a historical date and the content of the first constitution confirms that the then Georgian society had appropriate values and a very high legal culture.

"The constitution of that time was based on the principles recognized in the civilized world at that time, on general human values, and therefore, it was the document that created a very solid foundation for our constitutionalism to develop rapidly since the 90s. The new stage of development of our constitutionalism should be based on very strong values. I will say once again that this was a historical date and the content of the first constitution was a demonstration that the then Georgian society had appropriate values and a very high legal culture", said the Prime Minister.
