Police used water cannons against anti-government demonstrators in Tel Aviv on Saturday night, The Times of Israel reports.

According to the publication, the participants of the protest demanded the return of the hostages in Gaza.

As a result of the clashes between the law enforcement officers and the participants of the rally, several people were injured, 21 demonstrators were arrested.

The confrontation between the protesters and the police took place in the vicinity of Democracy Square. According to the police spokesperson, the law enforcement officers were instructed to prevent the demonstrators from blocking the Ayalon highway.
