Giorgi Botkoveli: Overcoming the veto has become a "challenge" for "Georgian Dream" - if they do something against the rule of law and overcome the veto, that gives them some additional satisfaction

Overcoming the veto has become a "challenge" for "Georgian Dream" - if they do something against the rule of law and overcome the veto, that gives them some additional satisfaction, - the regional secretary of "United National Movement" Giorgi Botkoveli said about this.

He responded to the President's veto on the amendments to the "Election Code" and noted that the country needs such an election system that ensures fair elections in Georgia.

Overcoming the veto became a challenge for Georgian Dream. If they do something against the rule of law and overcome the veto, that gives them some additional satisfaction. We see that the country really needs an election system that ensures fair elections in Georgia. We have seen that the Venice Commission is against the process that Ivanishvili's party is trying to overcome. Of course, if they go to all this, it will be a step taken against the interests of our country," Botkoveli said.

In addition, he also spoke about the fact that state-political officials may have their official salary increased.

As Botkoveli explained, the management team insures its own income.

"Increasing one's own well-being is the main goal of the prime minister and all those officials who are involved in the corruption vortex. If this process is witnessed before October, we, the responsible opposition, which will be in the government, in the format of the coalition government, must ensure that the salary that each official receives is deserved in accordance with the work that he does. We see officials who are only concerned with their own welfare. How can we talk about Ivanishvili's attitude towards the party, that they will somehow insure corruption. They insure their own income", Botkoveli said.
