Gia Volski: A certain group of non-governmental organizations has become a net of intrigue

According to Gia Volski, Vice-Speaker of the Parliament, a certain group of non-governmental organizations has become a net of intrigue. Volski noted this while commenting on the statement of 12 non-governmental organizations, where they call on the government to "stop the campaign to discredit judges with a different opinion".

According to Volski, supporting the vetting system is "a political statement".

"A certain group of non-governmental organizations has become a net of intrigue. What does it mean when a certain judge declares that he is in favor of a vetting campaign, when the state policy does not provide for such humiliation as to test these 5 judges or others and put them in the role of school pupils. This is a direct political statement, and it has thelook and smell of the political attitudes that the radical opposition has created in relation to the court", said Gia Volski.

12 non-governmental organizations call on the authorities to "stop the campaign of discrediting judges with different opinions". As mentioned in the joint statement of the third sector, the government must fully comply with the conditions of the European Union, which is not only a prerequisite for joining the European Union, but also for the creation of an independent and impartial court and the development of the country.

Five judges - Mamuka Tsiklauri, Madonna Maisuradze, Keti Meskhishvili, Ekaterine Gasitashvili, Nino Bakakuri share the request to introduce the vetting system.
