If the gathering of Pride is evaluated as promotion, then if it will be prohibited, - Mamuka Mdinaradze, the leader of the parliamentary majority, thus answered the question regarding whether Tbilisi Pride and the use of the so-called rainbow flag will be banned.

In addition, as Mdinaradze pointed out, a sharp distinction should be made and a balance should be found between propaganda and protection of rights. According to him, when the issue concerns the protection of rights, it cannot be prohibited in any way.

"In my opinion, more than 90% of the population of Georgia view such gatherings and presentation of the sexual views of people with such non-traditional lifestyle on the street, as well as demonstrating all this in front of churches and schools, concrete demonstration of some sexual topics in the form of a march, as propaganda and, in my opinion, quite rightly, in some cases. Therefore, if it is evaluated as propaganda and demonstratation of all this in a positive way, in this case it will be prohibited, but as soon as the rights are involved, we should not even think about prohibiting it at all. We have to work so that the balance is never violated. We must separate the context of rights protection from promotion, this will be the main achievement of this legislation, including the protection of our future generations from pseudo-liberal propaganda," said Mdinaradze.

Georgian Dream is initiating constitutional changes regarding family values, Mamuka Mdinaradze, the leader of the parliamentary majority, said at the press conference held at the Georgian Dream office today.
