Archil Talakvadze: Under our government, the number of citizens registered for elections abroad has increased by 44%, and the number of those who participated in elections abroad has increased by 100%

Archil Talakvadze, the deputy of the parliamentary majority, responds to the criticism of the opposition parties, which implies the inclusion of immigrants in the elections, and notes that under their government, the number of Georgian citizens registered for elections abroad has increased by 44%, and the number of fellow citizens who participated in elections abroad has increased by 100%.

According to his own explanation, the opposition is "speculating" as if the ruling team is artificially preventing immigrants from participating in the elections.

"Our compatriots in emigration have the constitutional and legally guaranteed right to participate in the elections. This right is exercised at every election. Of course, anyone who wants to vote in the elections can do so after proper registration provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Central Election Commission.

I want to tell you the data and respond to the absolute criticism that the radical opposition makes. Under our government, the number of our citizens registered to vote abroad has increased by 44%, and the number of our fellow citizens who have participated in elections abroad has increased by 100%. This is in response to the opposition speculating that we are artificially preventing our compatriots from participating in the elections. This is a lie, on the contrary, both indicators have improved", said Archil Talakvadze.
