Kakha Kaladze: The statements of some MEPs have no aby value for me

According to the secretary general of Georgian Dream, Kakha Kaladze, the withdrawal of the draft law "On Transparency of Foreign Influence" from the Parliament of Georgia was a mistake of Georgian Dream, in the sense that they failed to properly explain to the public and provide information regarding the said decision.

According to him, the "radical groups" managed to "disguise" the mentioned law as "Russian", which, according to Kaladze, "has nothing to do with Russia at all".

"We have relations with our European friends and partners and this relation will continue in the future. This relationship with the mentioned law has absolutely nothing to do with the country's European future. The law related to transparency is directly subject to the important principles that are valuable to every Georgian.

If we demand transparency from the authorities and officials, the transparency of non-governmental organizations that are financed from different countries is also important.

The withdrawal of the draft law "On Transparency of Foreign Influence" from the Parliament of Georgia was a mistake of Georgian Dream, in the sense that they failed to properly explain to the public and provide information regarding the said decision”, Kaladze said.

"We are talking about the European future. We want Europe. What are the main principles of Europe and European values, what does it stand for? What is it based on? These are: freedom of speech and expression, transparency, acceptance of different opinions, etc. All this was trampled. The statements of some MEPs, about whom you are asking me, have no value for me, they have the value at all. I will explain to you why it so. The people you are talking about came out during Saakashvili's government and told us and the public that Saakashvili's government was a beacon of democracy. We have the same situation today. They say the same todayc", explained Kaladze.
