Mamuka Khazaradze: Along with the uncontrolled influx of Russians, a greater danger, dozens of drugs, is flowing into Georgia without control - Lelo is coming up with new legislative initiatives - this is Georgian Youth Protection Act

Along with the uncontrolled influx of Russians, a greater danger, dozens of na drugs rcotics, is flowing into Georgia without control, - Mamuka Khazaradze, chairman of the Lelo party, said.

According to him, many citizens of Russia, whom Georgian Dream allowed to enter Georgia, are connected with criminal groups that trade in drugs.

"I want to talk about the biggest problem in Georgia, the problem that the Georgian Dream government allowed and encouraged. This is a problem that has invaded the families of many of our citizens, invaded our country with the complicity of the government and criminal indifference.

Unfortunately, parallel to the uncontrolled influx of Russians, a greater danger is flowing into Georgia uncontrollably, drugs of dozens of names, which poison and destroy the future of the most precious and reliable of our country - the youth.

Drug use has become an epidemic. Even according to Georgian Dream statistics, which probably do not reflect the full severity of the problem, the rate of drug trade increased by 70% from 2021 to 2023.

In just one year, from 2022 to 2023, drug trafficking increased by more than 49%.

The explosion of drug use coincides with the Russian invasion. Many Russian citizens, who were allowed to enter Georgia by Georgian Dream, are connected to criminal gangs that trade drugs.

What is the most tragic, according to the official information of the Ministry of Internal Affairs - every year 30-40 Georgians die from drugs, mostly young people - people who should be our future.

My message today is simple: Georgian Dream must stop killing our children!

Georgian Dream is responsible for this explosion of drug addiction and drug crime, because they use people's misery to trade electoral votes.

Considering all this, Lelo is coming up with new legislative initiatives aimed at ending the epidemic of drug addiction and related corruption - this is the Georgian Youth Protection Act, said Khazaradze.

According to him, now, more than ever, maximum mobilization and communication with the public is needed.

"Today I met ladies, mothers, who asked us to join forces against this challenge, and Lelo opens the door for any organization that is ready to follow us in this fight," said Mamuka Khazaradze.
