Viola von Cramon  to Director General of European Commission: Please tell the Georgian authorities to STOP beating up their people

Please use the visit today to tell the Georgian authorities to STOP beating up their people, - MEP Viola von Cramon said, addressing Director General of the European Commission for Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations, Gert Jan Koopman, who will visit Georgia today.

“Please use the visit today to tell the Georgian authorities to STOP beating up their people. No more violence and brutality against peaceful protesters.

Tell them to withdraw from the Russian Law - no more nice projects and happy pics with Georgian officials”, the MEP tweeted.

She also called on the European Commission and the Vice-President of the European Commission Vera Jourova to set up sanctions against Bidzina Ivanishvilli.

“Those pictures are completely absurd after what’s happening in Georgia at the moment and for the last weeks. Please EU Commission and Vera Jourova set up sanctions against Bidzina Ivanishvilli instead of these messages. EU has an interest to support and save democratic partners in Georgia”, she said.
