Germany's 30-year aid to Georgia is thrown into the water by such sleazy politicians when they arrive, attack the Georgian Church and do not even realize what they are doing, the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, said when commenting on the Chairman of the Bundestag’s Foreign Affairs Committee, Michael Roth's statement.

Papuashvili also responded to the speech made by the chairmen of the foreign affairs committees of the parliament of several EU member states during the rally held in Tbilisi yesterday, noting that "this was the best lustration of foreign influences [in Georgia].

"Regarding the visit of committee chairmen, we saw a sad fact yesterday when the members of the parliament and committee chairmen of foreign countries came out and participated in an anti-government rally. In general, the Prime Minister said yesterday, this was the best illustration of foreign influences - foreign actors gave a speech at the anti-government rally organized by NGOs financed by them”.

“The statement we heard from Michael Roth is an attack on the Georgian Church. This is the saddest thing. You know my special connection with German aid in Georgia. 30 years of Germany's aid to Georgia are thrown into the water by such sleazy politicians. When they come to Georgia, they attack the Georgian Church, and they don't even realize what they are doing with it, as well as what they are doing to their country, Germany, and its name in Georgia, when a representative of the government is associated with an attack on the Georgian Church and an attack on the government elected by the people. These are exactly the kind of sleazy politicians who, because of taking a selfie, can sacrifice the society to violence and disorder, these are the politicians we do not want to identify with Europe. That's why it is important that appropriate evaluations follow, including from their parties," Papuashvili said.

Michał Kobosko - we hope that your government eventually would either choose the European way, the democratic way or would resign seeing the number, the size and scale of the citizens' protests
