The Minister of IDPs from Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Protection, Mikheil Sarjveladze, met with the General Secretary of the European Union Trade Unions, Esther Lynch, and the Chairman of the Union of Georgian Trade Unions, Irakli Petriashvili.
According to the Ministry of IDPs from Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Protection, at the meeting, the parties discussed the current situation in terms of labor rights, the minimum wage, the allowance for the unemployed, further encouraging social dialogue and collective agreements and ensuring a decent working environment.
"The general secretary of the trade unions of the European Union shared his experience with the minister. The parties expressed their readiness for close and active cooperation in the future to solve the existing issues.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Chairman of the Union of Georgian Trade Unions, Tamar Surmava, and the Director of the Department of Trade Union Policy of the European Union, Lorenzo Repeti, the information stated.
