Givi Macharashvili won a silver medal at the Olympics

Freestyle wrestler Givi Macharshvili (97 kg) won a silver medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Macharashvili, who competed on behalf of the country of Bahrain, was defeated by his opponent from Dagestan, Akhmed Tazhudinov.

Before that, the Georgian wrestler defeated Magomedkhan Magomedov from Dagestan in the semi-finals, competing on behalf of Azerbaijan.
