The legend of French cinema, Alain Delon, died at the age of 88, the "France-Presse" agency reports based on the actor's family.

"He died peacefully at his home, surrounded by his three children and his family," said the family's statement, reported by France-Presse.

Alain Delon has been suffering from health problems in recent years.
