The Georgian authorities took certain measures and did not take other measures that our European partners expected. Here we are talking about the Russian law and the fact that the Justice Council has not been reformed - this is what prevents our rapid progress towards the European Union and NATO - this is how President Salome Zurabishvili answered the question posed by the media in Warsaw, "Is Georgia moving towards NATO?" How is cooperation between Georgia and NATO going?".
According to Salome Zurabishvili, the Georgian people are wise and know where their European, independent, democratic and peaceful future lies.
"Euro-Atlantic integration is written in the Constitution of Georgia. All state institutions of Georgia, including the President, are tasked to do everything possible to achieve this goal of Euro-Atlantic integration faster.
This applies to both NATO and the European Union, with which everything is currently at a standstill. After the Georgian authorities took certain measures and did not take other measures that our European partners expected. Here we are talking about the Russian law and the fact that the reform of the Council of Justice has not taken place. This is what is preventing us from moving quickly towards the EU and NATO. I really hope that the population of Georgia, the Georgian people, is wise and knows where its European, independent, democratic and peaceful future lies", said Salome Zurabishvili.
After the face-to-face meeting in Warsaw, the presidents of Georgia and Poland made joint statements to the media and answered the journalists' questions.
