Irakli Kobakhidze: Anaklia port to receive first ships by 2029

Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, head of the election headquarters of Georgian Dream, announced that the port of Anaklia will begin receiving its first ships by 2029.

Speaking at the presentation of the election program, Kobakhidze highlighted the strategic importance of the project for Georgia's economic growth.

He stated that 600 million dollars will be invested during the first phase of the Anaklia port project. Upon completion of this initial phase, the port will have the capacity to handle 600,000 containers annually.

"The first phase of this project will be completed in 2029. Anaklia port will receive the first ships by 2029. 600,000 containers per year will be the capacity of this port and 600 million dollars will be invested during the first phase alone. This is of course the most important project for economic growth", said Irakli Kobakhidze.
