These statements are temporary, therefore, we will not pay special attention to them - these elections will end, the war in Ukraine will end, and after that the relations with the European Union will be overloaded, - the Prime Minister of Georgia, the head of the election staff of "Georgian Dream" Irakli Kobakhidze told the journalists of the head of the foreign political department of the European Union.
According to the Prime Minister, comparing Georgia and Moldova with each other is putting ashes in the eyes, because, as Kobakhidze explained, there is no political and media pluralism in Moldova.
"These statements are temporary, therefore, we will not pay special attention to them. This election will be over, the war in Ukraine will be over and after that the relations with the EU will be reset. As for the comparison between Georgia and Moldova, it is absolutely insulting. You know that Georgia is ahead of Moldova in all parameters - be it democracy, human rights, economy. From an economic point of view, we have increased the difference between the economies of Georgia and Moldova by 9 billion, which is, among other things, the merit of the fact that, unlike Moldova, we have very strong state institutions.
Regarding democracy and human rights, I would like to remind you that one after the other, political parties, media outlets were banned in Moldova, and there are actually two media outlets that broadcast nationwide. This is the first channel of the Public Broadcaster and the second channel of the Public Broadcaster. There is no more political pluralism, no more media pluralism. When they move such a country and move it in a negative context, it is natural to throw ashes in the eyes, however, it cannot harm our country. I repeat to you once again - the elections will end, the war in Ukraine will end and relations with the European Union will definitely be overloaded from there, therefore, such statements are a temporary event.
Authoritarianism existed in Georgia until 2012, and if our team can be proud of something, first of all, it is the end of authoritarianism in Georgia. Therefore, such statements, fortunately, will not have a price for our population, due to the fact that they are absolutely false and based on incorrect information", said Kobakhidze.
