Irakli Kobakhidze: it is necessary to prosecute the respective parties, not their voters - we must fight not the voters, but the source of the crime

As for the damage to the banners, they don't like to show the reality related to the ongoing war in Ukraine - the radical opposition and their media tried to portray it all as a romantic event. Now they are worried about the fact that we showed the public the bare truth about all this, - this is how Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze responds to the fact that the members of "Unity - National Movement" Khatia Dekanoidze and Gigi Ugulava damaged their party's election banner.

According to him, the management team will do everything to prevent Ukrainization.

"As for damaging the banners, they don't like to show the reality related to the ongoing war in Ukraine. The radical opposition and their media have been hiding from the public what is happening in Ukraine today for two and a half years. The situation in Ukraine is the worst, 20% of the country's territory is occupied, while only 8% was occupied before the war. The infrastructure has been destroyed, Ukraine has lost half of its energy production. The humanitarian situation is the worst, many settlements do not have gas, electricity, or water, including in big cities. Tens of thousands of Ukrainians, hundreds of children have died. These people, the radical opposition and their media outlets tried to portray this as a romantic event. Now they are worried that we have shown the public the bare truth about all this. Their goal was to make Georgians eager to share the fate that Ukraine shares. We must do everything to prevent Ukrainization. Do not open a second front. That is why it is important for people to support peace on October 26", Kobakhidze said.

According to him, it is necessary to judge the relevant parties and not their voters.

"Punishing a voter is unimaginable for us, but, of course, the responsibility must be shared by all voters, each voter is responsible for his own choice. If in 2020 or 2021 the vote of the voter who supported "National Movement", "Lelo", Gakharia and other opposition parties won, in this case Georgia would be in a worse situation than Ukraine. We must ensure that those political parties that are an obstacle to the formation of a democratic system are judged, not their voters. We should fight not the voters, but the source of the crime. These are politicians who are actually spies. They act in accordance with external assignments," said Kobakhidze.
