The voter should understand what he is voting for, make a decision with this responsibility and not vote for war, destruction and the economic and state collapse of Georgia, - said Shalva Papuashvili, a member of the political council of "Georgian Dream", the chairman of the Parliament.
Shalva Papuashvili also spoke about the European Parliament's resolution and the opposition's assessment that they will fulfill the request written in the resolution and impose sanctions on Russia as soon as they come to power.
"As it turned out, after two and a half years, the structures of the European Union recognized what they actually demanded from the Georgian government. In the resolution of the European Parliament, the public read what the authorities had known for a long time, what they had been telling them behind closed doors, and they had insisted on it from the authorities. Now the public has already seen firsthand what they were asking us to do - they were asking us to impose sanctions on Russia, and we saw the reaction of the opposition that yes, they will fulfill the request written in this resolution and will impose sanctions on Russia as soon as they come to power. This was stated by "National Movement" and "Lelo", among them, it is written in the election program that it will join all the sanctions imposed by the European Union and, accordingly, will impose bilateral sanctions on Russia. So, their election promise is to bring Georgia into escalation, to increase the escalation with Russia, which directly means the collapse of the economy, the collapse of Georgia, and it means directly bringing Georgia into military conflict. This is what the opposition parties promise [to voters]. Accordingly, the voter should understand what he is voting for and make a decision with this responsibility and not vote for war, destruction and the economic and state collapse of Georgia", said Shalva Papuashvili.
