General Secretary of "Georgian Dream," Kakha Kaladze criticized opposition parties, accusing them of political bankruptcy and lacking resources to gain public support.
In a statement addressing the opposition, Kaladze emphasized that opposition figures have become politically irrelevant, describing them as individuals without the necessary resources or public backing. He predicted that the Georgian people would "give the opposition its proper place" in upcoming elections.
"These people are politically bankrupt, they have no resources for support and cooperation."
According to Kaladze, the opposition operates within a closed circle, relying on intimidation and insults to maintain control over their supporters. He remarked that they are stuck in their own echo chamber, believing that the world revolves around them, despite having no real influence in the country.
"They are boiling among themselves, they are confused. They think that the whole world revolves around them."
Referring to past elections, Kaladze noted the Georgian public’s attitude toward opposition-backed presidential candidate Salome Zurabishvili, suggesting that the people have already shown their stance on the opposition. He also alluded to external forces pressuring opposition parties to unite.
"In particular, what was the attitude of the Georgian people towards Salome Zurabishvili... They are together because they were told that 'they should be together.'"
Kaladze concluded with a metaphor, likening the opposition to someone "clinging to water-absorbed moss," indicating their desperation to hold onto relevance amid a politically difficult situation.
