13 countries of the European Union openly and officially tell us that Georgia will not be able to become a member of the European Union if the government does not change its course. This government will not change its course, therefore we, the people, must change the government, - Mamuka Khazaradze, the leader of the "Strong Georgia" coalition, said this in an address.
As Mamuka Khazaradze notes, in a few days Georgia will have a chance to refuse the unfulfilled promises of the last 12 years.
"Friends, at the end of the week our country will elect a new parliament and a new government. In a few days, Georgia will have a chance to refuse the unfulfilled promises of the last 12 years. We should reject the government that serves Russia, not Georgia. Let us refuse such a future in which many Georgians will be forced to leave the country. Instead we have a chance to support the right ideas - Europe, job creation, higher wages and pensions, prospects for young people and real, coalition democracy.
As the crucial election nears, I hear two main concerns from voters. First, many voters no longer want to hear politicians' promises. Bidzina Ivanishvili's unfulfilled promises, such as free money, 100 factories and many others, have made Georgian citizens lose faith that the government will do something for the people. I cannot tell you that we will immediately repair the 12-year damage caused to public trust, but I want to tell you directly that you can trust our coalition, "Strong Georgia", number 9. In these elections, we set 3 main goals: 1. Freeing Georgia from Russia's influence immediately and continuing the European path; 2. Increase of pension to 1000 GEL! 3. Creation of 200,000 jobs, implementation of mega-projects, such as Anaklia deep-water port and other large projects.
Today I want to make a commitment to you not only about what we will do, but also about when we will fulfill these promises. Simply put, we undertake that the government formed under the leadership of "Strong Georgia" will take concrete steps in the first three weeks to fulfill three priorities: First, integration into the European Union - in the first three weeks, our government will cancel the so-called "Russian law" and will start implementing the 9-point plan of the European Commission's requirements to ensure the integration of Georgia into the European Union.
2. Pensions - in the first three weeks, within the framework of our coalition agreement, we will receive a budget that will pave the way for a 1000-GEL pension. We have a concrete plan on how to increase the pension, including by increasing taxes on casinos and gaming businesses. and 3. Employment - In the first three weeks, we will fast-track amendments to the law and remove the Chinese Communist Party-controlled, state-owned company from the project. After that, we will conduct the tender for Anaklia Port again so that a western company with high reputation is selected and the construction of Anaklia Port can be completed quickly.
I would also like to tell you that according to our plan, the co-owners of Anaklia port will become citizens of Georgia. Which means that the shares of Anaklia port will be offered to our fellow citizens. With the start of Anaklia Port, Anaklia City and other megaprojects, tens of thousands of jobs will be created in Georgia.
The Anaklia project will not only be the return of a historical function for Georgia, but also a project of national and international importance, creating the main state of the country and creating jobs. I said in the beginning that citizens have two main concerns and the second thing I hear from voters is about the European perspective. It is completely understandable to me why citizens are concerned. Look at the latest statements from European leaders. 13 countries of the European Union openly and officially tell us that Georgia will not be able to become a member of the European Union if the government does not change its course. This government will not change course - therefore we, the people, must change the government. So if you want a European future with more jobs, better wages, higher pensions, less corruption and protected human rights - then all these opportunities are at your fingertips and on Saturday 26 October, we must make it a reality.
On Saturday, we have a chance to change the government. It is my great wish that "Strong Georgia", number 9, will be your choice, but at the same time, I respect any choice of yours that will replace this government! That will only happen if you go to the polls and vote, because if you don't, you'll be disappointed the next day that we missed a historic opportunity for our country. So, on Saturday, we should boldly go to the polling station and prove that the soul of Georgia is European and our future is in Europe. On October 26, everything is in your hands. You can change the geopolitical course of Georgia, the future of you, your family and our country! We must build a strong Georgia together!" - it is said in Mamuka Khazaradze's address, which is distributed by the party's press office.
