Shalva Papuashvili: Many things indicate that preparations are underway for October 27 and for an unconstitutional change of government

The opposition doesn't run a pre-election campaign at all, they don't appear in the regions at all because they don't have people, authorities who will go to the citizens and have something to say, - said the chairman of the parliament, Shalva Papuashvili.

He also noted that "the opposition campaign is conducted from abroad" and not a day passes without "2-3 announcements made from abroad", which "is a direct interference in election issues".

"Many things indicate that preparations are underway for October 27 and for an unconstitutional change of government. Call it a coup or whatever you want. This is a 2020 repeat attempt. What does this indicate: when it comes to whether this or that violation is or not, there is an interdepartmental commission, coordinated by the Ministry of Justice. Neither the opposition attends this commission, nor NGOs. If they have any complaints, they should come and present them. International observers go to the commission, OSCE/ODIHR is present and all this is recorded by them that they are not present. If they had real complaints about something, they would have brought it up, it would have been investigated and the public would have seen it. what are they doing now - They come out, hold a briefing, throw accusations left and right. Their low standard is that their accusations are based on hearsay and not much in quantity. We see that they are not campaigning at all. Ask anyone who is involved in election processes, the opposition is not visible in the regions at all, they don't have any campaign. "Georgian Dream" is the only party that has nominated delegates, none of the other parties have nominated because they don't have people, authorities in the region who will go to the citizens and have something to say. Their whole campaign is, at best, talking to people on television, and at worst, what is actually happening is that they are campaigning from abroad. We observe that not a day passes without 2-3 statements from abroad, which are direct interference in election issues. Such an anomaly has never happened in Georgia. This is an overall sad situation and that's why it is important that our citizens came armed and mobilized on October 26, and their abundance is the most powerful weapon against any foreign interference," said the Speaker of the Parliament with Imedi TV.
