Aleksey Pushkov: The Western plan to change the regime in Georgia with the support of the opposition has collapsed

The Western plan to change the regime in Georgia with the support of the opposition has failed, - the head of the Information Policy Commission of the Council of the Russian Federation, Aleksey Pushkov, said.

"Perhaps there will still be chaos in Georgia, but it seems that the Western plan - to change the regime with the support of the opposition in Georgia, has, to put it simply, collapsed. "Georgian Dream" won, receiving more than 54% of the votes, i.e. an absolute majority. The West's plan was to turn Georgia into its semi-colony and promised to join the multi-gender family of European nations. However, for some reason, this did not attract the majority of Georgian voters," Pushkov said.

According to him, the President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, failed to convince fellow citizens of the charm of European values.

"And now, after the elections, which brought victory to "Georgian Dream" again, the question arises, to what extent Zurabishvili himself, as the president, corresponds to the sentiments of the Georgian people?!" - noted Pushkov.
