President of IRI: I hope the leadership of Georgia understands what is at stake - such flawed elections make EU membership impossible

President of the "International Republican Institute" (IRI), Daniel Twining, responds to the statement made by American Senator Roger Wicker on the social network regarding the parliamentary elections held in Georgia and states that such flawed elections make it impossible for the country to join the European Union.

“Strong words from a strong senator. Hopefully, the leadership of Georgia realizes what is at stake - because 90% of Georgians want to join the European Union, which such flawed elections make impossible", - wrote the president of IRI.

American Senator Roger Wicker released a statement two days ago, in which it is mentioned that they share the opinion of President Salome Zurabishvili that these elections were neither free nor fair and did not reflect the will of the people. According to him, instead of a dignified, transparent and legal process, the Georgian people received a farce.
