Shalva Papuashvili: Recently, the Georgian nation, unequivocally and with a complete majority, supported the salvation of the country - we must know that what is ours is our own

On this remarkable day, I am sure that St. Ilia the Right is looking down from heavenly Georgia and rejoicing. He rejoices that he sees his estate protected, sovereign, independent, standing on its feet, moving forward, the smith of his own destiny and in reliable hands, - said the Chairman of the Parliament Shalva Papuashvili on the occasion of Ilia's Day.

According to Papuashvili, young Ilia managed to express the essence of the eternal formula - estate, language, faith - which "so clearly describes all of Georgia, reminds us who we are, who we were yesterday and who we should be tomorrow".

"187 years ago, a person appeared in Georgia, who in the most difficult times, in the age of the rise of empires and the assimilation of nations, had to define from the beginning what it means to be a Georgian, how to live in the time of changes in industrial technologies, and where he is different A star to which we must go. On this remarkable day, I am sure that St. Ilia the Right is looking down from heavenly Georgia and rejoicing. He rejoices to see his estate protected, sovereign, independent, standing on its feet, moving forward, the forge of its own destiny and in reliable hands. The three divine sanctuaries, which all of Georgia received from its ancestors, which Ilia Chavchavadze took care of, looked after, revived and handed down to us, today are our property, our harvest and to be strengthened. A very young Ilia managed to express the essence of the eternal formula - estate, language, faith - which so simply and so clearly describes the whole of Georgia, reminds us who we are, who we were yesterday and who we should be tomorrow" - noted Papuashvili.

Also, Papuashvili drew attention to the importance of the parliamentary elections held in Georgia and noted that during these elections, Georgia elected a government that, with greater strength, nationalism, and protection of its own importance and dignity, is going to take the Georgian identity and state strengthening to a new height.

"Today, our gathering took place against the backdrop of the recently held parliamentary elections in Georgia, which in their essence and content are more than just elections. Most recently, the Georgian nation, unequivocally and with a complete majority, supported the country's survival, protection, development, strengthening and progress in this really difficult time. In these elections, Georgia elected a government that is going to raise the issue of Georgian identity and strengthening of the state to a new height with more strength, nationalism, protection of its own importance and dignity. We must remember that we are ourselves. No one else will kill themselves because of us. No one will sacrifice his own for us. We should know that what is born belongs to us. We are responsible for this both to our ancestors, to our children and to the future," said Shalva Papuashvili.
