Ms. Salome has only a few Fridays left in this position and in her place, as a rule, a person should be busy preparing her own things in order to leave her position, - this is how the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia Shalva Papuashvili responded to the initiative of the opposition party to involve the President in the process of canceling the lists.
At the same time, Papuashvili noted that they will start consulting and thinking about the future presidential candidate after the assembly of the parliament.
Regarding the statements of the opposition parties regarding election fraud, Papuashvili noted that "the opposition is stuck in the past and speaks in the 21st century with the arguments of the 20th century."
"They found in this election that they collided with machines, with technology, and it's impossible to talk about the arguments that they talked about in 2020 or earlier, when they took some summary minutes in which there could be imbalances or there could be correction minutes, which were also issues allowed by law and with that, just because they could speculate visually, they waved some nonsense papers. It just took time to disprove this misinformation. Now they can't even do that, they can't hold a piece of paper in their hands to say something that there is a violation. Usually we are dealing with conspiracy theories. In the end, after listening to all these claims, it turned out that the opposition and their allied NGOs, instead of accusing the CEC of falsification, actually blame FOCUS, because they cannot explain what they are talking about. They just want to make claims and have no real argument. That's why we are calmly watching this process, all this will pass, the parliament will meet and life will continue," said Papuashvili.
