Shalva Papuashvili became the chairman of the 11th convocation parliament. Papuashvili was nominated for the post of parliament speaker by the faction "Georgian Dream" and was unanimously approved with 88 votes.

Papuashvili made a long speech before the vote and promised from the rostrum of the parliament that "the parliament will listen to everyone, but will act only in accordance with the interests of the Georgian people."

After the election of the Speaker of the Parliament, the national anthem was played.
