Irakli Kobakhidze: We call on foreign entities to stop encouraging violent and groundless protests, which are stirring up anti-European sentiments in Georgian society

Georgia is a state with strong institutions that is consistently following the path of European integration, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said at a press conference held at the government administration.

The head of government called on foreign entities to stop encouraging violent and groundless protests, which are stirring up anti-European sentiments in Georgian society.

“It is worrying that so far we have not heard a single foreign entity calling for peaceful expression of protest. Moreover, some foreign entities even refer to violent demonstrations as peaceful demonstrations. By doing so, they are not condemning and distancing themselves from violence, but, on the contrary, inciting it. Moreover, they call on the Ministry of Internal Affairs not to respond to violence, which makes their intention to support the "Nazmaidan" and the Ukrainization of Georgia completely clear. We call on foreign entities to stop encouraging violent and groundless protests, which stir up anti-European sentiments in Georgian society. In conclusion, I would like to remind everyone once again that Georgia is a state with strong institutions that is consistently following the path of European integration. Despite the constant attempts to drag Georgia into war, we have avoided Ukrainization in our country and have maintained peace. Despite two attempts at a revolution financed from outside, we have maintained stability in our country. Despite artificial obstacles, we, after a year and a half of uncompromising struggle, have obtained the status of a candidate for EU membership for our country. We once again promise to the Georgian society, which expressed its strong confidence in the October 26 elections, that no one can shake peace and stability in Georgia and that, despite artificial obstacles, Georgia will stubbornly continue to move forward towards European integration," the Prime Minister said.
